Description of problem:
I am unable to start Totem in Gnome running on Wayland. When I try to run it from terminal, I get the following message:

Gdk-Message: 15:55:35.333: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.

totem-3.26.2-1.el8.x86_64
gnome-session-wayland-session-3.28.1-6.el8.x86_64
xorg-x11-server-Xwayland-1.20.3-8.el8.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.15-4.el8.1.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to Gnome Standard on Wayland.
2. Open terminal.
3. Run totem (from terminal).

Actual results:
Totem window is not opened. The following message is displayed in terminal:

Gdk-Message: 15:55:35.333: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.

Expected results:
Totem window is opened. No error message is displayed in terminal.

Additional info:
- Works fine in Xorg.
- Tested on ThinkPad P50 in discrete gfx mode - NVIDIA Corporation GM107GLM [Quadro M1000M] (rev a2)

What version of mutter? The linked issue was fixed in the mutter version included in rhel-8.1.0.

After evaluating this issue, there are no plans to address it further or fix it in an upcoming release.  Therefore, it is being closed.  If plans change such that this issue will be fixed in an upcoming release, then the bug can be reopened.
