 Michele, will be enough to run CI after the merge of those fixes to verify their functionality and stability?

It's hard to say tbh. I don't think we're likely to make the GA cut at this point since this is a RHEL package.

In terms of testing all we can add is that the very same fixes we tested and verified on RHEL7 will be ported to RHEL8, so the introduction of regressions is a bit less likely, although I dislike that we found out about this only now.
