Description Florin Andrei 2005-12-09 23:41:05 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050922 Fedora/1.0.7-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.7

Description of problem:
The MySQL manual is not included in any mysql RPM provided by Fedora, which makes offline troubleshooting difficult.
Even online, the manual on the Net is related to the most recent MySQL version, not to the one used by the system I'm troubleshooting.

Please include the manual with the package. At least the big one-page HTML version (although a multiple-page version would be nicer).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mysql-4.1.15-1.FC4.1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. see above
2.
3.

Actual Results: mysql has no manual

Expected Results: mysql should come with the manual for that specific version

Comment 1 Tom Lane 2005-12-09 23:57:22 UTC
The manual *is* included, in the form of an info file (try "info mysql").

I realize that that's not everyone's favorite documentation format, but I'm
disinclined to override the upstream developers' choice of file format, and even
less inclined to bloat the RPM by shipping multiple formats of the same manual.
