I added output of this command to attachment.

So the kernel doesn't think that mode is supported, not much mutter can do. I assume it's a bug in the kernel driver not making it advertise the modes it should, so moving there.

There is currently no way for mutter to be provided with manual modelines as can be done via xrandr, to work-around.

Fedora 31, kernel-5.3.9-300.fc31.x86_64, mutter-3.34.1-8.fc31.x86_64 - the problem still exists

Unfortunately the issue is still present on Fedora 31 with kernel 5.5.7-200.fc31.x86_64

Plug in ultra-widescreen display via displayport adapter

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug in displayport and HDMI connection to display
2. Max 1980x1080 resolution option for Sharp 4K UHD 
3. Inability to overide via xrandr and/or wayland

Actual results:
Display max resolution is 1920x1080

Expected results:
4K resolution options for display

Display plugging into HDMI Display port adaptor rated for 4K & 2K, into Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen1, Intel i915 Graphics adapter, Displayport adapter
