We have at various times talked to Netscape's continuing engineering, without any success. Sorry. Marking as 'deferred'; if versions appear, we will release them. I'm finding that Netscape Navigator 4.76 is quite stable under RedHat 5.2 (glibc 2.0.7-29.4). I've had over 10 windows open at a time and can close individual ones without it crashing and killing them all. $ netscape -version Netscape Lite 4.76/U.S., 06-Oct-00; (c) 1995-2000 Netscape Communications Corp. NOTE: this is "Linux 2.0" version NOT "Linux 2.0 (glibc)" on Netscape's download site: http://home.netscape.com/download/1019100/10002-en----_qual.html The downloaded file is called: navigator-v476-us.x86-unknown-linux2.0.tar.gz That's the libc5 version, not the glibc-2.0 native version. I guessed that's what it was. Nevertheless it's more stable then the 4.74 glibc 2 version. Thanks for all your help. |
