Description Fred New 2005-12-20 15:19:50 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5

Description of problem:
I accidentally shut down my system and discovered that the new test kernel doesn't power the system off.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.14-1.1771_FC4

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Initiate Shutdown from X login screen.
2. Wait for the system to shut down.

Actual Results: The hard disk (PATA) spins down, but the "Power down" message remains on the monitor and at least one fan is still making noise.

Expected Results: The system powers itself off completely.

Additional info:

The most recent kernel capable of powering off my system was kernel-2.6.14-1.1653_FC4.
