Description Paul Howarth 2019-10-22 09:10:12 UTC
Hi,

I'm the maintainer of trac-spamfilter-plugin, which has a dependency on python2-pillow. The trac application and its plugins have not yet been ported to Python 3, so there is a co-ordination effort going on in #1737930 to check the ongoing support status of the necessary dependencies for trac and its plugins.

Are you OK with continuing support for python2-pillow in Fedora 32 and possibly Fedora 33?

python2-pillow has dependencies on python-olefile, python-cffi and python2-numpy which would also need to be maintained, though the latter two are build-time only could possibly be trimmed?

Hi, do you mean in the state as it is now in F32, or with dependencies which have since been removed readded?

As long as python2-pillow is still available, I'm not bothered about what dependencies lie underneath. The information I had was from Bug#1737930, which may be outdated.

So far I've only removed python2 support from packages which have been flagged as leafs and for which a ticket has been filed them to be removed. So as long as there are users of python2-pillow, I'll keep it around.

Thanks; I assume that applies to python2-olefile too?
