Of course this driver doesn't support printers that it doesn't support. What you want is another driver, which isn't packaged in Fedora. Which other driver would this be? epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2? I also would like to ask how could I see that this is not the right package? The description in the spec file points to http://avasys.jp/english/linux_e/ which according to google translate raises a page-not-found error. Yes. It's a wholly different package that does not support any of the printers supported by epson-inkjet-printer-escpr. Since BZ #1531948 describes that the original open source escpr driver works for the ET-3700 printer with a PPD files adopted from the escpr2 package, I have now packaged the whole set of the escpr2 drivers by replacing the newer binary-only driver with the older open source driver; please see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2. The open source driver works at least with ET-3700 printers; it would be interesting to see if it also works with your WF-C5710 printer. |
