please could you branch and build glib package for the EPEL8?
I would like to used it as dependency for the dionaea package in EPEL8.

Could you not build against glib2 instead? Upstream seems to support it, looking at the configure script.

I'd really rather not have the ancient Gnome 1 libraries in EPEL-8 if at all possible.

Seems to work with glib2 in rawhide so I guess it will work with glib2 in EPEL8 as well.
So glib not needed by me in EPEL8.
