I've finished updating our patching configuration to implement the proposed cache flush fix on sssd package updates, and thus rolled the updates across our entire production fleet.  We're experiencing no issues with LDAP query volume!  I've dropped the severity of the ticket to 4, as we're no longer impacted by the security vulns nor the load issues.

Moving forward we'll control sssd package updates more specifically.  Please do let us know when the underlying bug is fixed, so we can remove the cache flush step from our package update process.
