Fixed In Version: samba-4.9.8-110.el6rhs Doc Type: Bug Fix
Doc Text:
Previously, CTDB was unable to start due to a missing filesystem directory. In spite of manually creating the directory, CTDB could not function properly due to an incorrect SELinux context. With this update, the rpm package now properly creates the missing directory with the required SELinux context and CTDB starts correctly.

Description Vivek Das 2019-11-15 09:49:47 UTC
Description of problem:

After setting up ctdb samba when I am trying to start ctdb by executing service ctdb start. CTDB fails to start because of missing ctdb directory from /var/run.

Manually creating the directory will result in selinux issue. Selinux context is required to be set on /var/run/ctdb i.e we need ctdbd_var_run_t on /var/run/ctdb

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

ctdb-4.9.8-109.el6rhs.x86_64

How reproducible:
2/4 times

Steps to Reproduce:
1. RHEL-6 RHGS ISO
2. Upgrade to RHGS-3.5.0 build glusterfs + samba-ctdb
3. Setup samba-ctdb
4. Start ctdb

Actual results:
CTDB fails to start.

Expected results:
CTDB should start successfully
