Description Jonathan Maxwell 2019-11-28 22:26:29 UTC
Description of problem:

RFE to update ipvsadm on RHEL8 to include Maglev hashing.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

RHEL 8.1

Actual results:

The Maglev hashing is already available in the ipvs module:

$ git log --oneline kernel-4.18.0-147.el8 | grep -i Maglev
30edf801d7ed netfilter: ipvs: Add configurations of Maglev hashing
039f32e8cdea netfilter: ipvs: Add Maglev hashing scheduler

But the current ipvsadm 1.29-8 is outdated and does not support Maglev hashing.

Expected results:

Update the ipvsadm packet so that it supports Maglev hashing.

For support of Maglev Hashing(mh), ipvsadm v1.30 is required as per: https://lwn.net/Articles/792617
