Comment 3 Jakub Jelen 2019-12-03 11:14:52 UTC
I am afraid this is one of the last updates that will be possible to do in Fedora.

Today, I got another email with orphaned (java) packages and as I went through the list what I would need to take, I started hitting other build dependencies that were retired half a year ago. Obviously, there is something wrong in the dependency resolution in these scripts. I was able to take tens of uninterested java dependencies from orphanage, but I am not going to do the same thing with retired packages especially when they are
 * Maintained as a module already
 * I have no idea how many of them is there in the wild
 * There is no conceptual solution in sight (with all the discussion on fedora-devel)

So unless the modularity thing will become somehow useful, I would be able to build JOSM against java-pakcages module, JOSM will be no longer in Fedora.
