Verified, these problematic obsoletes were removed. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA. glibc.spec currently contains these directives: Obsoletes: %{name}-headers(i586) Obsoletes: %{name}-headers(i686) Newer RPM versions reject those tags because '(' is not a valid character in package names (virtual Obsoletes: are apparently not supported). There is also an unversioned obsoletes: %ifarch %{ix86} %{sparc} Obsoletes: glibc-debuginfo-common %endif We should remove that as well because without a version, it is impossible to install the package of that names if it ever comes back.
