I am investigating how to build apcupsd on CentOS 8. I started the following thread in apcupsd mailing list.

Hello, I am investigating how much effort it takes to package apcupsd
for EPEL 8 repository.
A first RPM build failed because package gnome-vfs2 is missing on
Enterprise Linux 8 / EPEL8.
On Wikipedia I read that gnome-vfs2 has been obsoleted by GVfs and GIO [1].
My question is: is apcupsd still depending from gnome-vfs2? Can this
dependency be replaced with its new successors?

Thomas do you have a working (on EPEL8) spec file for gnome-vfs2? I may help you

Hi,

I used the src rpm from Fedora 31.
and used rpmbuild instead of mock to build.

You cannot build gnome-vfs2 on EPEL 8 due missing dependencies ORBit2-devel compat-openssl10-devel
