Description of problem:

customer is seeing intermediate latency issues when connecting to application through router/haproxy.
customer is seeing some connection reply within ~200ms, some within 2-3 seconds, causing impact on the services.

The reporter changed from using the router for internal connectivity to using services and that resolved the issues.  They also tuned the performance parameters of the router and that seemed to help too.
