Description thierry bordaz 2020-03-18 14:27:35 UTC
Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_directory_server/11/html/performance_tuning_guide/tuning-db-cache#db-cache-on-ram-disk

Section Number and Name: 6.4.3 Storing the Database Cache on a RAM Disk

Describe the issue:
The setting of nsslapd-db-home-directory: /dev/shm/slapd-instance_name/
is done in the wrong entry.

It is presented in
dn: cn=config,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config

while it should be in
dn: cn=bdb,cn=config,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config

Suggestions for improvement:

Example in step 4 should be

dn: cn=bdb,cn=config,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config
...
nsslapd-db-home-directory: /dev/shm/slapd-instance_name/
