Description of problem:

Hello, can you please provide epel-8 update?

I need it for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1815701

Comment 1 Javier Peña 2020-03-23 14:39:09 UTC
I have requested an epel8 branch for the package [1]. However, there seems to be some issue with the scripts checking issues in Pagure, since the request is denied based on "jpena is not a maintainer of the python-fixtures package". I have opened [2] to request a fix.

I got the epel8 branch. When trying to build the package, I realized it depends on python3-testtools. So I'm blocking on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1776755

Comment 5 Carl George 🤠 2020-04-24 07:27:02 UTC
Javier, it looks like we have a build loop going on. Check out bug 1776755 comment 8 for more details. The main take away is I have an override now to make python-testtools available in the epel8 buildroot, so you should be able to proceed with this package. And please do, as I'll need it to continue with my bootstrapping. If you like, you can grant the python-sig access to this package and I'll take care of the rest.

Comment 6 Javier Peña 2020-04-24 09:25:04 UTC
Carl, I have built the package: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1497811. I had to disable unit tests because we have another dependency loop (testtools has a runtime dep on fixtures).

I don't have permissions to add python-sig to the package, maybe Alan can?

Comment 7 Alan Pevec (Fedora) 2020-04-24 09:47:13 UTC
so looks like admin via group doesn't really work?
I've added python-sig group with commit permission.
