I think we should simplify it for the sake of the user. Every node needs 10GB available for the mon. 
At any point in time, OCS will use it only on 3 nodes. 
No customer will remember that he needs to allocate this when there is a failure, hence we added in OCS 4.5 an automatic deployment of mon on host path. 
With dynamic provisioning, it's not critical. 
If I need to choose, comment 3 looks better IMHO
