Description sgouvern 2020-03-26 09:50:47 UTC
Description of problem:

Several display problems on the 'Server Settings'/'Security' Tab:
-The 'Cipher preferences' tab is not aligned with the other tabs of the same level (ie 'Security configuration' and 'Certificate Management' tabs) until one click on it
- 'Security Configuration' tab : the 'Server Certificate name' selection button shows a truncated certificate name
- typo in the error message 'The TLS minimum version but be less than or equal to the TLS maximum version'

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cockpit-389-ds-1.4.2.9-1.module+el8dsrv+6001+1cbc6dcf.noarch

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the 'Server Settings'/'Security' tab
2.
3.

Actual results:

-The 'Cipher preferences' tab is not aligned with the other tabs of the same level (ie 'Security configuration' and 'Certificate Management' tabs) until one click on it
- 'Security Configuration' tab : the 'Server Certificate name' selection button shows truncated certificate names
- typo in the error message 'The TLS minimum version but be less than or equal to the TLS maximum version'

Expected results:

-The 'Cipher preferences' tab is displayed beside 'Security configuration' and 'Certificate Management' tabs, on the same line
- 'Security Configuration' tab : the 'Server Certificate name' selection button length should be adapted to the certificate name length, so that the certificate name is not truncated
- The error message should be 'The TLS minimum version *must* be less than or equal to the TLS maximum version'

I do not see any alignment issues with the Cipher Preferences tab, do you have a screen shot showing the issue?

These wrappings are happening because your browser window is too narrow. We use "container-fluid" classes that allow for components to wrap and adjust to the screen size - this is expected. I don't think there is much we can do about it, but I'll see what I can do to improve it (but it will ALWAYS wrap if the screen is too narrow).

Comment 9 sgouvern 2020-04-17 12:49:11 UTC
Verified with cockpit-389-ds-1.4.2.12-1.module+el8dsrv+6328+f04d7471.noarch / 389-ds-base-1.4.2.12-1.module+el8dsrv+6328+f04d7471.x86_64

Typo in error message does not appear any longer : The TLS minimum version must be less than or equal to the TLS maximum version
'Security Configuration' tab : the 'Server Certificate name' is displayed correctly

=> Marking as Verified
