An out-of-bounds write flaw was found in the i2c driver in the Linux kernel. This flaw allows an attacker to escalate privileges with system execution privileges. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.

A vulnerability was found in i2c driver in kernel, where there is a possible out of bounds write due
to memory corruption. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with
System execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for
exploitation.

This was fixed for Fedora with the 4.14.15 stable kernel updates.
