Applies to 4.5 and 4.4, so a backport might be needed. `crictl stats` is not used by Openshift, so this is low priority.

I suspect this has been fixed as of https://github.com/cri-o/cri-o/commit/da1b17dc7101f5bc560242bbe45632e409c97571
which is newer than the version used in your tests (https://github.com/cri-o/cri-o/commit/dfc84147e0123c608fb24952cdd757c6aee5639f)

I have to follow up on why it hasn't been promoted in the machine os content yet

Update: promotions happen on Thursdays, and the one being built today will have the required version. Can you check with the new nightly built and see if it fixes the problem?
