This is a tricky one.  We added the ability to automatically convert drives between JBOD and RAID mode in Ussuri, and this patch is a bugfix to those 2 patches.  As a result, this one can't be backported unless the 2 conversion patches are backported.

We could try to backport the JBOD/RAID conversion patches, but this change is on the edge of a bug or a feature depending on how you want to look at it, so not sure if these would be accepted upstream.

Thanks for pointing me at this, I'll add it to my backport tasks.

Unless this is flagged as a blocker this will miss 16.1.4 (will be released 17 Feb). I'll target it for 16.1.5 for now.
