rawhide release is really outdated, could it be updated?

Thanks.

Yeah, I'll take a look at nvme-cli-2.0 rc as libnvme is finally in f36.

Comment 28 Tomáš Bžatek 2022-04-01 14:16:50 UTC
@Andy, I see you're active in the other bugzilla. I tried to reach you via e-mail, haven't got an answer yet.
I've got nvme-cli-2.0~rc8 update ready to push but ultimately wanted to wait for your answer.

Comment 29 Andy Lutomirski 2022-04-01 19:42:00 UTC
Anyone want to co-maintain this package? I have way too much on my plate lately.

> Anyone want to co-maintain this package? I have way too much on my plate

Sure, I'd be gladly co-maintaining nvme-cli on regular basis. Just needed to grab your attention about that.

The linux-nvme userspace stack (libnvme, nvme-cli and nvme-stas) is gaining quite a bit of attention nowadays and new requirements (e.g. the /etc/nvme directory ownership with hostnqn, hostid and discovery.conf files presence) are coming, along with slight push towards faster updates due to broader adoption by projects that build on top of libnvme and have calls to nvme-cli included in their test suites.

My target is to have F36 updated to the new stack, the final nvme-cli-2.0 and libnvme-1.0 releases might be out perhaps in the next two weeks. Heavy testing is appreciated upstream and inclusion in Fedora will certainly help with its additional coverage.

Comment 31 Tomáš Bžatek 2022-04-04 15:56:26 UTC
Built nvme-cli-2.0~rc8-1.fc37 in rawhide.
F36 build waiting for libnvme-1.0~rc8-1.fc36 update to get into buildroot (subject to side-tag next time).

As it looks now libnvme-1.0-rc9 will break public API again and nvme-cli-2.0-rc9 will need to be pushed in a single update.

Comment 32 Andy Lutomirski 2022-04-04 18:12:00 UTC
I attempted to give you the relevant access. Let me know if I missed something please.

Thanks, I've got provenpackager superpowers, no extra access needed.
I'll close this buzilla once libnvme-1.0~rc8-1.fc36 gets into stable and nvme-cli-2.0~rc8-1.fc36 is built afterwards.
