Description Igor Raits 2020-05-06 17:20:25 UTC
Hello,

Your package (fedora-jam-kde-theme) Fails To Install in Fedora 33:

---
can't install fedora-jam-kde-theme-1.0.1-14.fc31.noarch:
  - nothing provides caledonia-kde-theme needed by fedora-jam-kde-theme-1.0.1-14.fc31.noarch
---

According to a policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks if you won't reply to this bug.

The data was generated from koji buildroot, so it might be a bit newer than latest rawhide compose.

If this is caused by updating one of packages and not rebuilding others yet, consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/rawhide-gating/multi-builds/

Thanks!

Known issue, package needs a complete makeover.

Comment 2 Igor Raits 2020-05-06 17:27:09 UTC
Well, this has not been fixed since F31, just saying that it needs fixing and it is known does not help. Somebody needs to actually fix it :)

In any case, if this won't be fixed soon, it will have to be removed because nobody can install this package.

Comment 10 J. Randall Owens 2020-05-21 08:49:31 UTC
keychain-2.8.0-10.fc32 Conflicts with kde-settings < 4.2-3, and the new fedora-jam-kde-theme-2.0.0-1.fc32.noarch unversioned kde-settings & kde-settings-plasma, which is apparently interpreted as a match and a conflict.

 Problem: package keychain-2.8.0-10.fc32.noarch conflicts with kde-settings < 4.2-3 provided by fedora-jam-kde-theme-2.0.0-1.fc32.noarch
  - cannot install the best update candidate for package keychain-2.8.0-10.fc32.noarch
  - cannot install the best update candidate for package fedora-jam-kde-theme-1.0.1-14.fc31.noarch

It looks like the Conflict was added over 10 years ago in response to bug #486025, FWIW.

Comment 11 Erich Eickmeyer 2020-05-21 15:24:22 UTC
So, here's the thing: in order to make any theming happen, I had to make the package a *replacement* for kde-settings, which means that in order to update, one must use `dnf --allowerasing`. kde-settings and fedora-jam-kde-theme cannot be installed at the same time as they contain the same files with different contents.
