Description Harry Mallon 2020-05-13 12:47:47 UTC
Description of problem:

This module has been available for a while (including in Fedora). libstoragemgmt is available already, as is libconfig (which is required to build it). It would be useful if udisks2-lsm was available. It was available in v7 after this bug report https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1672664.

RHEL 8 has disabled it again.

It does actaully build if I rebuild the srpm manually. Maybe it is not supported?

There was no technical issue, just a product management decision. I've been just informed the udisks2-lsm subpackage should be available in the upcoming RHEL 8.3 release.

FYI, we're updating UDisks to the latest upstream release 2.9.0 which will also come in the RHEL 8.3 release. There were some improvements to how modules are initialized, however the current/old API has been preserved.

Major improvement for the UDisks LSM module is that it now reports initialization failures (e.g. when the libstoragemgmt daemon is not running or there's a malformed config file) through the new org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Manager.EnableModule() method call and it's possible to attempt to initialize a module again (e.g. once the libstoragemgmt daemon has started) during UDisks runtime.

Hello

the package udisks2-lsm-2.9.0-3.el8 is available in RHEL8 compose, and the module Sanity test pass.
so move to verified.
