Description Fabian Affolter 2020-05-14 09:13:26 UTC
Description of problem:
NO context menu and copying not always possible.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
qtpass-1.3.2-1.fc31.x86_64

How reproducible:

Start qtpass, try to copy a password or content from the text area.

Actual results:
Sometimes copying with "Ctrl+c" works but not always.

Expected results:
Get the content menu to choose the action.

Additional info:
At first glance I would say it's a QT issue. Perhaps related to wayland.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 31 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 31 on 2020-11-24.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
Fedora 'version' of '31'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 31 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 2 Ben Cotton 2020-11-24 15:40:50 UTC
Fedora 31 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2020-11-24. Fedora 31 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 3 Kamil Páral 2022-04-13 07:44:55 UTC
This is still happening on Fedora 35. See a workaround in https://github.com/IJHack/QtPass/issues/522#issuecomment-1097660840 .

qtpass packagers, could you please introduce a local patch to run qtpass with `QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb` by default (probably by adjusting the desktop file)? The upstream doesn't seem responsive nowadays, and this issue is likely affecting all Wayland users.

Comment 4 Arthur Bols 2022-04-18 10:38:57 UTC
Hi! In my experience it works fine on KDE, but I just tested it on Gnome and it does feel broken.

Do you use Gnome? If so, I'll add a patch specific to Gnome.

Comment 5 Kamil Páral 2022-04-18 18:49:04 UTC
Yes, I use GNOME. Patching it would be great, thanks :)

Comment 6 Arthur Bols 2022-04-20 12:50:56 UTC
I submitted a scratch build with a potential patch, could you verify that it works? https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=85966969

Comment 7 Kamil Páral 2022-04-20 13:02:39 UTC
Thanks, it works. I'm not able to verify that the context menu will not move and disappear over time, because that might happen after a few weeks. But the application itself looks and works as expected.
