Description Felix Dewaleyne 2020-05-18 11:24:25 UTC
Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_cloudforms/5.0/html-single/high_availability_guide/index#configuring_HAProxy

Section Number and Name: Chapter 4. Configuring the HAProxy Load Balancer

Describe the issue: There needs to be a section to set on the appliances the advanced configuration setting "url" in the "ui" section

Suggestions for improvement:
To make sure links to the interface use the load balancer, you can configure the url override in the advance section of each appliance in the region by going to the regional settings, opening zone > appliance > advanced and looking for the url setting under the ui component like so :

:ui:
  :custom_menu:
  :mark_translated_strings: false
  :display_ops_database: false
  :url: http://loadbalancer.example.com

in this example, replace loadbalancer.example.com by the fullly qualified domain name for your load balancer and it will be used for all links.

Additional information:
this setting and configuration seems to be shared as a knowledge through emails with consulting and has never been added to the documentation.

because of bz#1836158 you need to make sure that it is http and not https that is used so I put http instead of https in the example. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, cloudforms redirects http connections to https.
