Not a bug, the window require a password and block the gnome components for a
security reason.

It is not explicit enough that the desktop is blocked because of the password
requirement.

The desktop should behave differently, with a blinking of the asking-password
box or with a black fading of the whole desktop (except of the box) as the next
windows or ubuntu already do.

Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no

Closing this bug as WONTFIX for several reasons:
(a) in modern Fedora distributions are used polkit and dbus to ask for root password if some action performed via desktop needs to be executed with root permissions;
(b) there was no bug report for this component for the long time, so it is possible no one is using usermode and maybe in future it can removed from Fedora completely.
