Description Eugene Syromiatnikov 2020-06-10 15:33:06 UTC
microcode-20200520 release[1] introduced 0x71a revision of 06-2d-07 (Sandy Bride-E/EN/EP, CPUID 0x206d7) microcode, and it may be probably enabled by default now.

Comment 4 Jeff Bastian 2020-06-22 19:04:08 UTC
Verified with microcode_ctl-1.17-33.29.el6_10.

Sandy Bridge EP successfully updated the microcode without the need for a "force" file.

The failed tasks are due to blacklisted CPUs which means they are not running the newest microcode revision. In other words, the failures are expected and a good thing since it means the blacklist is working.
