Hmm, I guess one decision is whether to start off with VTK 9.0 or be stuck with 8.2. Any opinions? Well, I'm mostly wanting vtk as a dependency for OpenCASCADE, which is a dependency of Kicad 5, which is my final goal, for what it's worth. I would expect the latest version to be the one to go with, even thought right now the current OpenCASCADE wouldn't build with VTK 9 (as of last week, at least). Yeah, Richard filed https://tracker.dev.opencascade.org/view.php?id=31582 against opencascade but there hasn't been any movement there yet. I'd like to go with 9.0 if possible but may need to do 8.2 if there isn't any progress on other projects supporting it. 8.2 builds fine now.
