Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Verify the bug with below builds again:
virt-v2v-1.40.2-9.el7_8.1.x86_64
libguestfs-1.40.2-9.el7_8.1.x86_64
libvirt-4.5.0-33.el7_8.1.x86_64
qemu-kvm-rhev-2.12.0-44.el7_8.2.x86_64
nbdkit-1.2.7-2.el7.x86_64
virtio-win-1.9.10-3.el7.noarch
rhv-guest-tools-iso-4.3-13.el7ev
Steps:
1.Log into engine server and upload RHV-toolsSetup_4.3_13.iso to ISO Storage Domain
2.Convert different versions of windows guests to rhv4.3 by virt-v2v
# virt-v2v -ic vpx://root.198.169/data/10.73.199.217/?no_verify=1 $guest_name -o rhv-upload -os nfs_data -of raw -b ovirtmgmt -it vddk -io vddk-libdir=/home/vmware-vix-disklib-distrib -io vddk-thumbprint=B5:52:1F:B4:21:09:45:24:51:32:56:F6:63:6A:93:5D:54:08:2D:78 -oc https://ibm-x3250m5-03.rhts.eng.pek2.redhat.com/ovirt-engine/api -op /home/rhvpasswd -oo rhv-cluster=Default -oo rhv-direct -ip /home/passwd -oo rhv-verifypeer=true -oo rhv-cafile=/home/ca.pem
3.Power on guest on rhv after v2v conversion, check if rhev-apt is installed normally,if certificate of rhev-apt is valid, if guest agents can be installed from RHV-toolsSetup_4.3_13.iso automatically, if there is error info about rhev-apt and guest agents in windows log
Test Result:
Guest Firstboot rhv-apt qemu-ga SPICE-ga Certificate valid Show IP info rhv windows log error
win2019 pass pass pass pass yes pass no
win2016 pass pass pass pass yes pass no
win2012 pass pass pass pass yes pass rhev-apt error
win2012r2 pass fail fail fail pass fail rhev-apt error
win10-x86_64 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win10-i386 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win8.1-i386 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win8.1-x86_64 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win2008 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win2008r2 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win8-i386 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
win8-x86_64 pass pass pass pass pass pass rhev-apt error
Below is the conclusion for the test result:
(1)For win2012r2,rhev-apt can't be installed and this problem is already tracked by bug1584678
(2) Although guest agents can be installed from rhev-guest-tools-iso normally, found a rhev-apt error in some guests' windows log:exit code1641. According to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1753914#c58,it's not a bug.
According to above testing, now move the bug from ON_QA to VERIFIED status.
