Description Felipe Borges 2020-07-14 09:41:45 UTC
Description of problem:
GNOME Boxes presents a 3D acceleration option for guests using virtio-gpu, but the 3D acceleration will only work when virglrenderer is installed.

virglrenderer isn't available in RHEL 8.3. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1647004#c12

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-boxes-3.36.5-4.el8

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Fedora Workstation as a guest VM
2. Go to the VM properties and toggle 3D acceleration ON
3. Check the terminal output for "(gnome-boxes:328130): Libvirt.GLib-DEBUG: 07:23:06.487: Error: unsupported configuration: virtio 3d acceleration is not supported"

Actual results:
Nothing happens.

Expected results:
The 3D acceleration option is not shown in RHEL 8.3
