Description of problem:
This patch make azure-events catch errors when connecting to the URL, making it easier to troubleshoot issues.

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Block requests to the API or similar to make it fail.

Actual results:
Fails with full traceback.

Expected results:
Fails with more sensible output.
