Description Abhijeet Sadawarte 2020-07-30 15:25:36 UTC
1. Proposed title of this feature request

Mirroring a specific set of operators when configuring OperatorHub for restricted networks

2. Who is the customer behind the request?

    La Banque Postale
Account: name and acct # :
    Account name: La Banque Postale
    TAM customer: yes
    CSM customer: yes
    Strategic: yes

3. What is the nature and description of the request?

The customer has requested a way to mirror specific operators when configuring OperatorHub for restricted networks.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

They are a bank company, and this cluster will be in a restricted security area. They would need to install/upgrade the cluster in a fully restricted network mode. The security department requests to install fixes and CVE every 3 months.
So, they need to be able to download only specific operators for their use-cases, install and update them frequently.

7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?

I could not find RFE and BZ.

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?

OCP 4.6

9. Additional Information:

The cust tested the steps to update the catalog operator. In this case, mirroring re-download all images (1000+ images) while most of them are already present in the registry. There is no incremental update of the catalog mirror.
