Description XiaochuanWang 2020-08-17 02:40:06 UTC
Description of problem:
Create a user group named with capitalized characters, it will be saved to lowercase which is not consistent with oc

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
4.6.0-0.nightly-2020-08-16-072105

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Clusteradmin login web console and browse to group page.
2. Create a group by console named with some capitalized characters, such as "CapitalizedGroupName"
3. Check the group name after hit Create button.

Actual results:
All letters are saved as small case.

Expected results:
Should be consistent as oc, which the created name is same as user input.

Comment 1 Jakub Hadvig 2020-08-17 08:08:55 UTC
When creating a Group via console, using the YAML editor, the console is passing a new object with name cased as is typed.
The response from the apiserver is lowercased though, so this is a known issue. Don't thing there is anything that could be done.

Comment 2 Samuel Padgett 2020-08-17 13:56:39 UTC
Hi, Jakub. Console is actually lowercasing the name. We should remove the code that does that from `k8sCreate`.
