Description Robert Scheck 2020-08-18 17:23:36 UTC
Description of problem:
Please build python-crypto for EPEL 8.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
python-crypto-2.6.1-32.fc33

Actual results:
No python-crypto in EPEL 8.

Expected results:
python-crypto-2.6.1-32.el8 - or better ;-)

Additional info:
Please let me know if you are not interested in maintaining the package on EPEL 8 branch.

Comment 1 Paul Howarth 2020-08-18 17:33:57 UTC
I really don't want to do this. It's long dead upstream and security-sensitive.

Can't you use python-pycryptodomex instead, which is already in EPEL-8?

Comment 2 Robert Scheck 2020-08-18 17:38:17 UTC
Good question - it seems like Nagstamon (https://github.com/HenriWahl/Nagstamon) depends on this old piece of software...

Comment 3 Paul Howarth 2020-08-18 18:11:14 UTC
Does it even use python-crypto? I see it listed as a dependency but I don't see it actually being used.

Comment 4 Robert Scheck 2020-08-19 15:38:12 UTC
No, it is not used at all (Nagstamon works properly without on RHEL 8). It's just listed as a dependency and I got tricked by that.
