Description Danny 2020-08-19 12:43:11 UTC
Description of problem:
/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/nrpe.conf uses legacy /var/run so systemd-tmpfiles complains about:

systemd-tmpfiles[64480]: [/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/nrpe.conf:1] Line references path below legacy directory /var/run/, updating /var/run/nrpe → /run/nrpe; please update the tmpfiles.d/ drop-in file accordingly.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
nrpe-4.0.3-1.el8.x86_64

How reproducible:
Installed latest version.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sudo dnf install nrpe

Actual results:
Log error above.

Expected results:
sudo sed -i 's/\/var//' /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/nrpe.conf
sudo systemctl restart systemd-tmpfiles-clean

Comment 2 Christian Kujau 2021-03-06 20:50:05 UTC
This bug is present with Fedora 33 (nrpe-4.0.3-2.fc33.x86_64, i.e. not the EPEL version), do we need a new report or can this be flagged somehow?

$ sudo systemctl restart systemd-tmpfiles-clean

$ sudo journalctl -l -p notice | tail -1 | fold -s
Mar 06 21:47:09 node0 systemd-tmpfiles[2247176]:

/var/run/, updating /var/run/nrpe → /run/nrpe; please update the tmpfiles.d/
