Created ghostscript tracking bugs for this issue: Affects: fedora-all [bug 1870264] Flaw summary: In image_render_color_thresh() from file /base/gxicolor.c, the `position` variable was being decremented per component instead of per-pixel, which could lead to a heap buffer overflow for CMYK and Monochrome landscapes. The addresssanitizer output would not reproduce for me on ghostscript-9.25 but the source code in the package does reflect that this bug may exist in the code. An attacker would need to supply a crafted PDF file to trigger this flaw and cause a potential denial of service. Mitigation: Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability. This issue has been addressed in the following products: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Via RHSA-2021:1852 https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2021:1852 This bug is now closed.
