Description of problem:

When dragging a node, if you use the shift key to change into regroup mode the UI will crash if there has been a data update since you started the drag operation.

How reproducible:

Whenever the initial drag is held until after a data update occurs and then shift is pressed.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. In developer perspective, navigate to Topology
2. Drag a node and hold down the mouse for a few minutes
3. Hit the <shift> key

Actual results:

UI Crashes

Expected results:

Drag turns from a move operation to a regroup operation (application groups are highlighted).
