Is this specific for clusters upgraded from OCS4.4 (OCS4.4 --> OCS4.5 --> OCS4.6) ?
Clone will create an independent PVC which can be expanded like any other PVC.
The limitation with clusters upgraded from OCS4.4 is that expansion is not supported in general, not just for the cloned PVC.

The docs[1], includes a statement `A persistent volume claim (PVC) cannot be cloned with a different size` and looks detailed and clear. So moving the bz to verified state.
