But what's really the difference between the repos? And do updates count as part of Core? The issue starts to get very confused very quickly and so it's easier to not even try to have a made up difference between them. The difference is that some are official and "sanctioned", like Extras, and others are not (like the multimedia ones I have so I can play files that Fedora officially won't play). It leads to monumental package clutter. And if there is no difference, why have Extras ? Why not just lump the lot together ? I think the repo source *does* matter and pirut should let you know, IMHO. |
