This rhbz is to track the backport of puppet-nova and openstack-tripleo-heat-templates changes to add database purge functionality to the deployment side of RHOSP.

The database purge command and option for archive were added in the following patches to openstack-nova for OSP13 [1]:

In order to allow customers to receive automatic purging of shadow tables, we need to backport deployment patches that make use of the purge command and archive option in nova.
