If you boot to run level 3 then start X11 does it stay fast ? Yes, even after I start with init 3 and run startx, the system slows down drastilcaly. Are you using kdm, gdm or xdm? Can you try out the latest rawhide XFree86 packages? XFree86-4.0.3-5 and Mesa-3.4-13. Do they change the situation for you at all? Please reopen bug if problem persists after upgrading to red Hat Linux 7.2 and applying all updates that have been released. |
