.`Metrics` role supports configuration and enablement of metrics collection for SQL server via PCP The `metrics` RHEL System Role now provides the ability to connect SQL Server, `mssql` with Performance Co-Pilot, `pcp`. SQL Server is a general purpose relational database from Microsoft. As it runs, SQL Server updates internal statistics about the operations it is performing. These statistics can be accessed using SQL queries but it is important for system and database administrators undertaking performance analysis tasks to be able to record, report, visualize these metrics. With this enhancement, users can use the metrics RHEL System Role to automate connecting SQL server, `mssql`, with Performance Co-Pilot, `pcp`, which provides recording, reporting, and visualization functionality for `mssql` metrics.

Comment 1 Rich Megginson 2020-11-12 17:53:45 UTC
@nathan - is this fixed by https://github.com/linux-system-roles/metrics/pull/23 which adds pcp mssql? Or does "sql server" mean something different than mssql?

Comment 2 Nathan Scott 2020-12-10 22:00:33 UTC
@richm - yep, its resolved by that one.
