A flaw was found in the JFS filesystem code. This flaw allows a local attacker with the ability to set extended attributes to panic the system, causing memory corruption or escalating privileges. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality, integrity, as well as system availability.

A flaw was found in the Linux kernels implementation of extended attributes while working on a journaled filesystem.  

An attacker with local access with permissions to modify extended attributes on a local filesystem can possibly crash the system.

This was fixed for Fedora with the 5.10.4 stable kernel updates.
