Description of problem: alsa-drivers does not compile on RHEL 4 2.6.9-34.ELSmp

How reproducible: every time


Steps to Reproduce:
1. untar alsa-driver 
2. cd in directory; ./configure; make

This is not a alsa issue. Its realated to RHEL 2.6.9-34 specific.
