MySQL itself seems to be available in CentOS 8. Why do you claim that it isn't? MySQL++ hasn't been branched for EPEL 8, that's true. I personally don't currently use MySQL++. The software I had that used it is no longer in use, so MySQL++ is now rather low priority to me. If you use MySQL++, YoshiKen, would you be willing to help maintain the package? I'm afraid I am not adept enough to maintain the package. I'd be willing to learn though. I don't really use MySQL myself and instead I use MariaDB. When trying to configure some software it complains as I mentioned in my initial post. The software that I want to use is for the Radiance tracker https://github.com/Empornium/Radiance I made a mistake in my title I meant to say mysql++ and mysql++-devel (In reply to YoshiKen from comment #2) > I'm afraid I am not adept enough to maintain the package. I'd be willing to > learn though. Are you a Fedora packager? If so, you shouldn't have much trouble with MySQL++. It's not a difficult package. If you're not yet a packager, then it will admittedly take considerable work to learn RPM packaging and find a sponsor willing to sponsor you into the packager group. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_package_collection_maintainers is a good place to start. (Most documentation assumes that you want to add a new package to Fedora. That is not a requirement. It is also possible to become a co-maintainer of an existing package.) |
