Can anyone in the CC: list provide a little more input on this bug? Sure, `rpm -e --nodeps samba-common` leaves the symlinks generated during the install (.spec) broken as we just remove them. The patch from the other Bugzilla fixes this but wrongly name the libnss_wins*.so files using install and %{VERSION} resulting in libnss_wins-3.0.10.so. Created attachment 151017 [details]
samba-correct-sonames-spec.patch
Guenther,
That's the patch I was mentioning.
Jose
Although this bugzilla was approved for RHEL 4.5, we were unable to resolve it in time to be included in the release. Therefore it is now proposed for RHEL 4.6. This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update release. We don't have this in RHEL 5 or the development tree, so I don't think we should do this for RHEL 4 yet. Leaving the flags as they are so that we'll roll this one over. Per comment #11, moving to 4.7 This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release.
