Thanks for your issue, I can reproduce it with Nautilus 3.28.1-14. It seems that it has been fixed upstream as a side-effect of https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/merge_requests/212. However, this change caused some follow-up issues if I recall correctly, so it needs to be carefully investigated before backporting... After some investigation, the fix looks safe to me, so it would be nice to backport it. While I was unable the reproduce the problem with my samba setup on the original version, the problem does not appear with the fix either. The patches have been correctly applied.
